Moor Park Wall Mural V&A and 1838 Collaboration
Stunning in its grandeur, Moor Park Mural is a faithful reinterpretation of hand-painted Chinese wallpapers that once graced a room at Moor Park, Hertfordshire—now held within the V&A’s national wallpaper collection. Each element of the original scene has been thoughtfully redrawn, breathing new life into the historic design while preserving the charm and character that first captivated the 1838 team.
In magnificent Prussian Blue, just as in the archive wall panel, the mural features a rich, tonal background adorned with a subtle, self-coloured chinoiserie motif. Also available in a soft Oyster colourway for a lighter, more serene effect.
Each roll contains four panels (A, B, C & D) to complete the full design. To extend across additional walls, simply repeat the sequence (A B C D) with another roll. Panels may be trimmed at the top, bottom, or both to suit your wall height and desired layout.

The design is adapted from a Chinese wallpaper panel created around 1750. Hand-painted wallpapers from China became highly sought after in Europe from the late 17th century, and by the 18th century had become a hallmark of grandeur in aristocratic homes. Moor Park, a stately residence boasting 38 bedrooms, exemplified this lavish aesthetic—its Chinese wallpapers a symbol of refined taste and worldly sophistication.
