Långelid / Von Brömssen: The Mastery of Narrative Pattern

Långelid / Von Brömssen is a premier Swedish wallpaper house founded in 2018 by two of Scandinavia's most respected pattern designers, Daniel Långelid and Emma von Brömssen. The brand is defined by a "cosmopolitan flair rooted in Swedish heritage"—a style they liken to "a lingonberry in a cocktail glass." Their aesthetic is a masterful play of opposites: merging Daniel’s architectural, often historicist structures with Emma’s fluid, hand-painted botanical and animal narratives. The result is a collection of "future classics" that feel at once deeply nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

The collection is grounded in traditional craftsmanship and local production. Every roll is printed in western Sweden at the historic Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik, a factory that balances modern eco-standards with heritage techniques. They are particularly known for their use of Surface Printing, a method that applies thick, water-based layers of pigment to create a slightly raised, tactile texture reminiscent of hand-blocked papers. This artisanal approach ensures that each design has a "soul" and a painterly depth that mass-produced digital prints cannot replicate.
