Kilburn's Coral Reef Wallpaper by 1838 V&A Decorative Papers Collection II
Kilburn’s Coral is a breathtaking large-scale wallpaper, inspired by a late 18th-century watercolour design for printed textiles from the V&A archives. This exquisite pattern brings together botanically accurate flowers, leafy plants, delicate seaweed, and coral forms—blending the familiar with the exotic in a composition that is both striking and sophisticated.
In the Coral Reef colourway, the design is set against a delicately shimmering pearlescent background, enhancing its ethereal, underwater elegance.
Available in four colours: Coral Reef, Mist, Ocean Blue, and Midnight.

Originally from Ireland, Kilburn moved to London, where he worked as a botanical illustrator before founding his own calico printing factory in Wallington, Surrey. His work, known for its exceptional quality and originality, artfully combines floral motifs with shells, ribbons, and architectural elements—cleverly concealing pattern repeats and showcasing his mastery in design.
