Flower Meadow Wallpaper by 1838 V&A Decorative Papers II Collection
Flower Meadow captures the serene charm of a wildflower field through a delicate Arts and Crafts-inspired design. Featuring bluebells, daisies, and dandelion clocks, this traditionally printed wallpaper evokes a timeless, countryside elegance. The subtle use of raised inks adds texture and dimension—bringing the flowers to life while creating a soft, slub-like effect in the background. The result is a gentle, welcoming ambience that truly lives up to its original name: "Sweet Home."
The featured Prussian Blue colourway mirrors the historic archive piece, offering a rich and authentic connection to its roots.
Available in five colours: Prussian Blue (original), Forest, Celeste, Spring, and Cream.
Archive inspiration: Dulce Domum wallpaper by Walter Crane (1845–1915), originally woodblock printed on paper by Jeffrey & Co., England, 1904.
Walter Crane, a leading figure of the Arts and Crafts movement and a passionate Socialist, believed in making art accessible to all. His 1904 design, titled Dulce Domum (Latin for “Sweet Home”), was a reflection of that ideal. Today, it has been thoughtfully reimagined using the skilled craftsmanship at the 1838 factory in Lancashire, preserving Crane’s original vision with care and precision.
