Charlotte Wallpaper – A Tribute to Floral Elegance
This exquisite wallpaper design celebrates the button-like blooms of chrysanthemums, capturing their delicate charm through a soft watercolour effect. Named after the talented artist Charlotte Horne Spiers, the wallpaper pays homage to her remarkable work and legacy in 19th-century decorative arts.
Digitally printed to replicate the original hand-painted quality, each bloom appears to cascade gently across the wall, creating a serene, immersive floral display. The design is so evocative, you can almost imagine the gentle fragrance of flowers floating through the air.
Shown here in Apricot, a warm and tranquil shade complemented by delicate white flowers and soft washes of green foliage.
Available in four dreamy colourways:
– Apricot
– Blush Pink
– Primrose
– Teal
Archival Inspiration
This wallpaper is inspired by an original watercolour from the V&A’s Prints and Drawings collection, attributed to Charlotte Horne Spiers (1844–1914). Spiers began her artistic journey at the Minton workshop in Kensington Gore, creating designs for textiles, wallpapers, and ceramics. To bring this floral into the modern era, each petal, leaf, and stem was carefully redrawn and separated from its original background, allowing the pattern to be reimagined in four contemporary palettes.
Coordinate beautifully with soft plains, complementary florals, or gentle textures for a layered and harmonious interior scheme.
