Blues Fantasia – Where Art Deco Meets Africa
A collaboration with animation artist Josephine McYebuah, Blues Fantasia is a majestic textile wallcovering that marries Art Deco elegance with African heritage. Inspired by Josephine’s Ghanaian childhood, comic book artistry, and the vivid drama of Bollywood films, this design is a celebration of global influences and modern grandeur.
At the heart of Blues Fantasia are graceful antelopes, entwined with rich gold and jewel-toned motifs. The bold geometric pattern is silk screen printed onto a natural-toned textile base, creating exceptional depth, texture, and colour. This artisanal process requires two skilled craftspeople and five hours to produce each 30-metre run—supporting local craftsmanship and sustaining traditional heritage mills.
The large scale and vibrant palette of Blues Fantasia make it ideal for a dramatic feature wall in grand entrance halls, luxurious living rooms, boutique hotels, or event spaces.
Pair it with the coordinating plain textile wallpaper, Savannah Plain, for a balanced and flexible interior scheme.
