Avalonis depicts a mythical landscape of small, interlinking islands, threaded together like invisible chapters. Created by Royal College of Art graduate Ruth Blanke, the design explores the connection between humans and animals. This striking wide-width wallpaper represents the flow of eternal life—navigating, adapting, and evolving, shaped only by the challenges encountered along the way. Overlapping screens and translucent inks create a rich spectrum of shades from just two colours, while long-table printing was used to faithfully realise the artist’s intended aesthetic.
